The Situation

New York City is home to a vibrant running culture, yet many races cater to elite athletes rather than embracing a broad, diverse community of participants. CityTri, an established race organizer, sought to launch a new event that would go beyond the typical race format—one that would empower runners of all levels, reflect NYC’s cultural richness, and attract meaningful sponsorship. The challenge was multi-faceted: developing an engaging name, positioning the event for maximum appeal, securing sponsorship, executing a cohesive branding and marketing strategy, and handling logistics seamlessly.

CityTri partnered with Consciously to create an inclusive, high-energy race experience that would resonate with runners across backgrounds. The event needed a strong identity, clear messaging, and effective promotional efforts to drive registrations and establish itself as a long-term success.
