The Work
Bronzeville Lakefront is a 100+ acre transformative mixed-use destination that is innovative, sustainable, design-centered, and inclusive at its core. This new health innovation district speaks to a global community, but remains firmly rooted in a rich local legacy. It will harness the heritage of Bronzeville to build a healthy and inclusive community for tomorrow by bringing 20% affordable housing, 9+ acres of green space, one new Metra stop at 31st street, and 105% renewable energy production annually to the neighborhood.

It will become a beacon of global excellence in health and life sciences innovation, green architecture and development, regenerative design, equitable placemaking, and building a healthy community. Bronzeville Lakefront will also deliver a much-needed $25M investment in local education, ensuring that Bronzeville’s youth receive a world-class education.
