Providing resources for grant makers in Boston and the Massachusetts area.
The Challenge
The Boston Indicators Racial Wealth Equity initiative aimed to combat racial wealth disparities in Boston and neighboring counties with data. Consciously partnered with the initiative to provide expertise in strategy, design, launch, brand development, content creation, and digital strategy.
The Work
With a focus on research, stakeholder engagement, design, content strategy and sustainable impact, Consciously developed a robust plan to provide a home for the Boston Indicators research and content which fosters collaboration among stakeholders. They will successfully launch the initiative in the summer with a visually compelling brand identity, content pillar strategy, and messaging campaigns.
Bringing Boston to Life
The goal was to illuminate communities and identities that normally go unseen in the website.
Results
The new initiative by the Boston Foundation and its research center, Boston Indicators, hopes to explore the racial wealth divide in Greater Boston, as well as more broadly, in the hopes of identifying new approaches to closing the persistent gap.
The team said…”We built something that provides a home for new research on racial wealth inequities in Greater Boston and across the country”
The Boston Foundation’s Leadership say
The Boston Foundation’s new CEO, M. Lee Pelton, who came to the Foundation in 2021 after serving as president of Boston’s Emerson College, has made closing the racial wealth gap a top strategic priority for grantmaking
The Why
The new site represents an acknowledgment by the influential philanthropic organization that the racial wealth gap remains profoundly entrenched in Massachusetts, and indeed throughout American society—and that purported efforts to close that gap have in many cases failed or fallen far short.
