Bringing modern design and trailblazing sustainability together since its founding in 2010, Between the Sheets sees sustainability as a daily commitment to look at each business decision through the lens of economic, societal, and environmental costs and benefits.Founded by Fashion Institute of Technology trained designer, Layla L’obatti, Between the Sheets’ design, manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping all take place in New York. Between the Sheets sources & incorporates fabrics with inherently eco-friendly properties, such as modal made from FSC certified sustainably harvested beech trees woven and dyed in a vertically integrated mill powered by renewable hydro-power and custom laces and signature lace trims Made in the USA and sourced from one of the only remaining local lace manufacturers. The company’s sourcing policy also gives preference to suppliers and vendors based in the US and those owned by minorities and women, ensuring support of the vital New York City garment center community.
